Union Station’s Newest Offering – Gastroteka & Gin Tonics
That’s right neighbors, we have a new restaurant in Denver Union Station that opened to rave reviews last night.
Ultreia, a new Gastroteka & Gin Tonics destination is the creation from Crafted Concepts, the group that brought us the award winning Rioja, Stoic & Genuine, Euclid Hall, and Bistro Vendome.
The idea is based around tapas, and sharing. And the name of the restaurant has special meaning.
The word Ultreia has its roots in Latin, loosely translates to “onward” and refers to the words of encouragement shouted to pilgrims on their Camino de Santiago – a 1,000-year-old pilgrimage to the shrine of St. James in the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela in Spain. It seemed a fitting name for a restaurant located in a transit hub.
Let’s talk about menus. Ultreia may be touting (and with good reason) its fantastic Spanish and Portuguese inspired tapas items, but make sure to take note of their special hams. Their menu focuses on some of the most delicious hams in the world. Celebrate the pig!
In fact Ultreia is planning to bring some of the most delicious and exclusive hams, such as a leg of four-year-old Cinco Jotas jamón Ibérico de bellota that was rumored to cost $1000, to Denver. This is where you go for ham connoisseurs.
Open for Lunch and Dinner, we’ve got a new spot to add to our weekly temptations.
Located in Denver Union Station at 1701 Wynkoop, Suite 125
Here is the Opening Week Menu. Visit their website here to learn more.
Cheers and welcome to the neighborhood Ultreia!
